4th Raízes Dialogue Cycle addresses income generation with forests

The 4th Dialogue Cycle of Raízes do Mogi Guaçu will be held on February 3, from 9:30 am to 11:30 am, a program resulting from the cooperation between WWF-Brasil and International Paper and carried out by the Copaíba Environmentalist Association and IFEAC/Instituto Federal do south of Minas Gerais. The meeting, which will be free and entirely online, will have as its central theme: Income generation with forest and SAFs (Agroforestry Systems).

In this edition, the event will feature the contribution of Paulo Araújo, a rural landowner who is part of Raízes do Mogi Guaçu and will share experiences associated with coffee production. We will also have Valter Ziantoni and Paula Costa da PRETATERRA, a company specialized in agroforestry implementation, to tell about experiences with income generation associated with SAFs and Jerônimo Villas-Boas from Instituto ATA with experiences of meliponiculture of natives.

About Raízes do Mogi Guaçu

The Raízes do Mogi Guaçu Program aims to recover and restore springs and riparian areas of the Atlantic Forest in the Mogi Guaçu river basin, in the eastern region of the state of São Paulo and southern Minas Gerais. The program focuses on restoring at least 200 hectares of forests in a region with high forest fragmentation and high water risk. Raízes do Mogi Guaçu is a cooperation between WWF-Brasil and International Paper and carried out by Associação Ambientalista Copaíba and IFEAC/Instituto Federal do Sul de Minas Gerais.
