Do you know what climate change is?
Do you know what climate change is?
Climate change is the phenomenon caused by global warming due to extreme levels of greenhouse gas emissions in the atmosphere. Changes are changes in the climate across the planet. And its consequences are irreversible for life on planet earth.
Considered today the biggest environmental problem at a global level, it is already known that global warming and climate change do not happen only by natural factors, such as glaciations and changes in the Earth's orbit. Human activities contribute considerably to aggravating this situation.
Since the Industrial Revolution, humans have increased the burning of fossil fuels, such as coal, oil, natural gas, among others. For your daily activities, such as transport, industries, heating homes, production of goods and consumption, etc.
These gases accumulate on the earth's surface, which causes the so-called Greenhouse Effect, a phenomenon that retains much of the heat from solar radiation, keeping the earth's surface warm.
Due to the growing increase in greenhouse gas emissions, this phenomenon has intensified, causing global warming, that is, the increase in the average temperature of the Earth's atmosphere.
In Brazil, deforestation is responsible for most greenhouse gas emissions. When a forest is burned, a large amount of carbon is released in the form of CO2 into the atmosphere. In 2020, Brazil set a record in deforestation due to fires.
The consequences are many for the environment and for humanity, from the increasingly frequent natural disasters such as typhoons, tornadoes, storms, floods, landslides, strong heat waves and intense droughts to losses in agriculture, respiratory diseases. and heart disease, homeless people, migration, increasing poverty, proliferation of diseases, new pandemics, etc. How would we go about reinventing ourselves?
