The Verde Novo project, carried out by Associação Ambientalista Copaíba and sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Socioambiental program, has already planted more than 380,000 seedlings on several properties in the region, benefiting rural landowners and landowners. Thinking about sharing the experiences of these owners and the results of almost 9 years of project, the institution is releasing a series of videos telling a little of the history of these people concerned about the future of the Atlantic Forest.

Flávia Balderi, executive secretary and founder of Copaíba, closely followed the recordings “The owners were willing to show a little bit of their routine, their learning and achievements. The relationships of trust and respect, built over many years, result in the success of this work. Thus, we join efforts for a greater good and the forests formed today are the result of that. It was a great emotion to be able to review areas that, almost 10 years ago, were degraded, and that today are formed forests, full of life, performing their diverse and important ecological functions”.

There are 10 30 second clips making a call to 8 more videos showing restored areas and some in the process of being restored. Videos of the forest nursery (production of seedlings), planting guidelines and environmental living work were also produced, also carried out through the project, which has already received over 9,000 students. “Producing the videos for Verde Novo was a unique experience. I was happy to see the dedication, the smile of satisfaction, the affection and the appreciation of these people with the forests they planted. In addition to benefiting their properties, they are also helping the planet. Every owner I met was impressed by the attitude and time dedicated to caring for the environment. Congratulations to the project and the owners who welcomed us with open arms.” Comments the producer of the videos Shane Glan.

The series of videos can be watched through the institution's YouTube channel, Copaiba Environmental Association, and can also be followed on social networks: facebook/aacopaibainstagram/aacopaiba.
