“Copaíba Jovem” project is presented at the Chamber of Councilors of Socorro/SP
On March 16, Tatiana Terasin, coordinator of Environmental Education at the Associação Ambientalista Copaíba, was with the group of Apprentices and Course Students from the Corporación de Guias Mirins de Socorro in a lecture entitled “Youth, Citizenship and Environment”. This activity is part of the Copaíba Jovem Project, in celebration of the NGO's 25th anniversary.
The objective of the project is to offer opportunities for young people to expand their knowledge about environmental issues, encouraging engagement in environmental causes, especially the conservation and restoration of the Atlantic Forest.
The approximately 125 young people who were at the Council Chamber in this activity had the opportunity to reflect on the concepts of youth, engagement and equity, to recover knowledge about the rights and duties of children and adolescents acquired after decades of demands, in addition to relating citizenship and environment.
Tatiana also brought practical tips for changing habits in both personal life and work that can have a great positive impact on our planet.
Finally, those present received the book “Viva a Mata Atlântica!”, the result of a partnership between the company Jungheinrich Brasil, one of the global leaders in intralogistics, Editora MOL, the largest social impact publisher in the world, and the NGO Copaíba . The book makes it possible to expand the repertoire on this important Biome that not only needs to be conserved but urgently needs to be restored.
