Lindóia City Hall signs a Term of Adhesion for the elaboration of the Atlantic Forest Municipal Plan with the application of the Climatic Lens and launches a Public Consultation on the Environmental Perception of its population on May 27, Atlantic Forest Day.
On May 17, at a meeting of the Municipal Council for the Defense of the Environment - COMDEMA, the Environmentalist Association Copaíba presented the proposal for the elaboration of the PMMA of the municipality, with a view to new opportunities for strategic actions, from the point of view of the application of the climate lens that seeks to highlight aspects related to climate change and bring measures to adapt the territory and populations that are more vulnerable to the impacts of a new reality with extreme phenomena that is installed all over the world.
On the occasion Mario Mantovani, President of the Forest Foundation of the State of São Paulo and collaborator of the initiative and Mariana Gianiaki, coordinator of the movement at the Association, presented the technical and methodological subsidies that guide the process, including the public consultation of environmental perception.
“The participation of society in the construction of local public policies for territorial planning is fundamental for the efficiency of the actions of the public power and the PMMA are the instruments to bring society, via the Municipal Environment Council, to contribute to the process of sustainable development in the municipality and attract funding for its implementation, mainly because the PMMA brings biodiversity as the main asset to help with climate goals, according to the Paris agreement”, says Mario Mantovani.
The meeting also featured the artistic intervention of the local actor and activist, Celso Angus, featuring the pain caused to human beings by the destruction of the Planet.
With the signature of the Term and knowledge of the Municipal Environment Council, the process will be conducted by the City Hall team with support from the Association's Public Policy area, through the Marimar and Ambiental Consulting, responsible for various PMMA initiatives.
The activities carried out will be published on the Copaíba Environmentalist Association's public policy page, available at: https://copaiba.org.br/politicaspublicas/
