On May 24, at a meeting of the Municipal Council for the Defense of the Environment - COMDEMA, the Environmentalist Association Copaíba presented the proposal for the elaboration of the PMMA for the municipality, with a view to new opportunities for strategic actions, from the point of view of application of the climate lens that seeks to highlight aspects related to climate change and bring measures to adapt the territory and populations that are more vulnerable to the impacts of a new reality, marked by extreme phenomena that are installed all over the world.

On the occasion Mario Mantovani, President of the Forest Foundation of the State of São Paulo and Mariana Gianiaki, coordinator of the initiative, presented the political context and the technical and methodological subsidies that guide the process, including the tool of public consultation of environmental perception, highlighting the benefits of action for greater governance in the city.

The signing of the Term now depends on the deliberation of the Municipal Environment Council. With the partnership, the process will be conducted by the City Hall team with the support of the Copaíba Association's Public Policy team, through Marimar and Ambiental Consulting, which carry out the PMMA through various initiatives and projects.
