Spring has begun – the period when plants bloom with the arrival of rain and heat. It is also an appropriate time to plant native trees for the recovery of areas, whether around springs, the banks of a stream, or even a hilltop.

The rains are welcome and guarantee the success of the planting of native trees for the formation of new forests – ecological restoration.

That is why Verde Novo, a project carried out by Associação Ambientalista Copaíba, sponsored by Petrobras, through the Petrobras Socio-environmental Program, is in full swing visiting landowners and rural producers to prepare the areas to be planted with this support.

Thousands of seedlings are being prepared so that, as soon as the rains start, they can be planted throughout the season. Thanks to Verde Novo, rural producers have the opportunity to receive free seedlings of native trees, the technical project for forest recovery of their property, the inputs to help planting and also receive all the monitoring of the technical team, for a period of two years old. “We are still registering the owners interested in receiving the seedlings and our support. This partnership between the producers and Verde Novo is worth it. We share the costs and together we managed to recover more areas, guaranteeing quality of life for everyone”, comments Flávia Balderi, coordinator of the Verde Novo project.
