On August 23, Copaíba participated in a GIS (Geographic Information System) training for the spatialization and insertion of forest restoration projects in the Pact's database. In this database, all areas and forest restoration projects in the Atlantic Forest will be available, with the objective of monitoring the goals established by the Pact.

Copaíba, as well as Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica and other institutions that work in forest restoration are feeding this database. To help the participating entities in the insertion of the projects, a training was carried out aiming at the training of the technical teams.

The training took place at the Forestry Experiments Center of Fundação SOS Mata Atlântica, in Itu/SP.

The pact

The Pact for the Restoration of the Atlantic Forest emerged from a movement of Brazilian society in the face of the great advance of deforestation of the Atlantic Forest. The purpose of the Pact is to articulate public and private institutions, governments, companies and landowners to integrate their efforts and resources in generating results in the restoration and conservation of biodiversity. The goal is to enable the forest restoration of 15 million hectares by the year 2050.
