Copaíba monitors and evaluates areas undergoing restoration
The Interact Clube de Socorro carried out, in partnership with the Environmentalist Association Copaíba, an action in favor of nature conservation. For the day of the tree, which is celebrated in September, the young people volunteered to plant seedlings of trees native to the Atlantic Forest.
The planting of seedlings symbolizes the days left for the commemorative date.
The Copaíba Environmental Association collaborated with the action, guiding the young people on how to plant the seedlings. The seedlings were planted on Copaíba's property, in an area destined for the institution's Forest Reserve. From now on, the care with seedlings will be part of the maintenance actions of the area that is practically a forest.
The project conceived by the Interact Club of Socorro, “PLANTANDO O VERDE” aims to show the population how easy and feasible it is to plant some trees on their land.
For Gabriel Marcon, 17 years old, President of Interact, comments that it is enough to reserve a few minutes and good will to plant trees in the homes. “The 30 trees were planted to represent 30 days before the day of the tree. As a countdown to the celebration of “tree day”, a day not so valued, but important for our survival!”, comments the motivated young woman.
