An organization based in Socorro, in the interior of São Paulo, has won the main award in the Brazilian third sector for the third time, consolidating its trajectory of excellence in the conservation of the Atlantic Forest.
THE Copaiba Environmental Association It was recognized as one of the best social organizations in the country by Best NGOs Award 2025, promoted by the Doar Institute. The award is considered the most important in the Brazilian third sector and highlights institutions that excel in management, transparency, financial sustainability, and social impact.
Since 2013, the Doar Institute has been working to strengthen the culture of giving in Brazil, encouraging individuals and organizations to collaborate on socio-environmental causes. In addition to the annual award, the institute is responsible for initiatives such as Giving Day and the Doar Seal, a certification that attests to good governance and transparency practices.

This is the third time that the NGO Copaíba has been recognized as one of the Best NGOs in Brazil.
The 2025 achievement marks the third time that... Copaiba It is among the most admired institutions in the country. The first recognition came in 2019, when the NGO was not only included among the Top 100 NGOs, but also received the title of Best NGO in Brazil In the Environment category, it stood out among hundreds of candidates. In 2023, it was again included on the list, reaffirming the consistency of its work and its commitment to the conservation of the Atlantic Forest. Now, in 2025, the new award consolidates a trajectory of more than two decades dedicated to ecological restoration and environmental education.
For Flávia Balderi, executive secretary of Copaíba, the recognition is a reflection of the collective commitment that underpins the institution's work.
“This recognition reinforces that our work goes beyond planting trees; it’s about sowing awareness, mobilizing people, and building bridges between communities, rural producers, and nature,” he states. “Being among the best NGOs "This recognition from the country gives us visibility and strengthens our mission to conserve and restore the Atlantic Forest. It is also an incentive for us to continue improving our governance, fundraising, and communication of our results, ensuring that each donor, partner, or volunteer understands that their support generates real transformation."”
The history of the NGO Copaíba
Founded in 1999, the Copaiba Environmental Association It works in the production of native seedlings, ecological restoration, environmental education, and community mobilization, benefiting municipalities in eastern São Paulo and southern Minas Gerais.
