The Ordinary General Meeting of Copaíba gathered, last night, the associates to present and vote on the activity reports and financial statements for the year 2016. In addition to these reports, the planning of the main actions planned for the course of the year 2017 was focused on. .

Unanimously approved, the 2016 activity report pointed out major events at the institution, starting with the change of headquarters and forest nursery. Despite the change and several changes in the executive team, in 2016, Copaíba produced more than 170 thousand seedlings of trees native to the Atlantic Forest. Most of them were destined for the institution's own forest restoration projects and the rest were sold as a way to help maintain nature conservation and restoration actions.

For 2017, the expansion of seedling production in the forest nursery is planned. As a strategy to strengthen fundraising, the sale of native seedlings contributes to this action and, in 2017, Copaíba will produce 400,000 seedlings. Also in the Viveiro, infrastructure improvements and adjustments are planned that are still necessary to optimize the production process.

In the forest restoration sector, Copaíba will continue with its projects in partnership with landowners and will also prepare new proposals, seeking financial support for the recovery of more forests.

Other actions were planned for the other segments of the institution, such as the sector of environmental awareness, public policies and also communication and marketing.

 The meeting ended celebrating the results achieved during 2016 and the associates were excited, with great expectation, for the implementation of the 2017 planning.
