Results and recognition mark Copaíba's trajectory in 2025.

Copaiba celebrates a pivotal year, combining environmental expansion, community engagement, and excellence in socio-environmental management.

The year 2025 has solidified itself as a milestone for the Copaiba Environmental Association, Based in Socorro (SP), the organization has accumulated significant achievements in different areas of activity, expanding its territorial impact, strengthening its governance, and reaffirming its relevance in the conservation of the Atlantic Forest. Among the highlights of this cycle is its inclusion, for the third time, among the best social organizations in the country by the Best NGOs Award, granted by the Doar Institute. The award recognizes institutions that excel in management, transparency, financial sustainability, and social impact, attributes that the organization possesses. Copaiba It has been consolidating this position over more than two decades of operation.

The 2025 recognition adds to two previous milestones: in 2019, when the organization also received the title of Best NGO in Brazil in the Environment category; and in 2023, when it was once again among the top 100 in the country. The repeated awards demonstrate the organization's technical and institutional consistency, which is based on ecological restoration, environmental education, and community engagement as its pillars of action.

Significant environmental results by 2025

Beyond national recognition, 2025 was a particularly significant year in terms of environmental results. The work on the Mogi Guaçu Roots Program, developed in partnership with the global company Sylvamo and WWF-Brazil, has established itself as one of the most robust restoration initiatives in the interior of São Paulo and southern Minas Gerais. Copaiba The organization has expanded its contribution to the recovery of the Rio do Peixe basin, a strategic area for the conservation of the Atlantic Forest and water resources in the Circuito das Águas region and surrounding municipalities. In this territory, the organization has reached the milestone of planting over 382,000 native seedlings, which have already resulted in the recovery of approximately 3.4 million square meters of degraded areas, equivalent to 368 hectares. These actions directly benefit 89 rural properties distributed across seven municipalities, while simultaneously promoting the protection of 153 springs and more than 42 linear kilometers of rivers and streams, strengthening ecological connectivity and contributing to the maintenance of biodiversity and the quality of water resources. In addition to the Raízes project, the association pursued other noteworthy initiatives, such as the Adopt a Forest project, created in 2021, which allows companies to offset part of their greenhouse gas emissions by sponsoring the transformation of degraded areas into forests through ecological restoration.

Investments in various areas 

The year was also marked by significant internal advancements, with investments in management, expansion of the technical team, process improvements, development of new communication strategies, and intensification of environmental education and community mobilization actions. Among the most notable achievements is the expansion of the nursery, reaching a capacity of 1 million seedlings per year. These efforts reinforce the institutional solidity of the organization. Copaiba It goes far beyond planting trees: it involves building lasting relationships, strengthening environmental awareness, and forging alliances that allow for the restoration not only of degraded areas, but also of the connection between people, territories, and nature.” The national recognition, he adds, strengthens the NGO's mission and highlights its commitment to continuously improving its governance, technical capacity, and transparency in communicating results.

Founded in 1999, the Environmental Association Copaiba It concludes 2025 with significant progress and expanded impact, reaffirming itself as one of the national benchmarks in ecological restoration and conservation of the Atlantic Forest. Its trajectory combines science, social participation, and responsible management, consolidating a legacy that continues to grow in scope and relevance for Brazil.
