Projeto Verde Novo explains step-by-step how to plant seedlings of native trees
Do you know how to plant native Atlantic Forest seedlings produced in tubes? Thinking about solving the doubts of many people who plant native seedlings on their properties, Projeto Verde Novo, sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Socioambiental program, run by Copaíba, has released another video explaining step by step how to carry out the planting.
This and other videos of inspiring stories from rural landowners were released in a series that can be followed through the institution's social networks: aacopaiba. “We need to reforest our forests and the best way to do that is to pass on planting information and especially how to plant a seedling. Although many landowners are used to planting as they are rural producers, the video guidelines can help whenever doubts arise”, comments Mayra Flores, coordinator of forest restoration.
One of these tips is how to use the hydrogel, which when hydrated with water helps to maintain the moisture of the plant's roots, thus facilitating the seedling development process. This and other planting processes, if performed well, in addition to helping in the good development of the seedling, also facilitates maintenance, thus ensuring the effectiveness of planting.
