Do your part – child of nature
Do your part – child of nature
Socorro, a privileged city for its location and natural resources, is also a victim of pollution. But we're tired of talking about pollution, aren't we? Those technical terms and rather monotonous and specific language.
It's not where I want to go, because it doesn't touch you. What I write is to show you this damage to the environment, which you may not stop to see. To try to move you and thus make you aware. Have you been to Monjolinho, or have you been to Limoeiro, or have you stopped by Saltinho, in short, have you visited any waterfall in the city? What could you perceive? The water level is low in all, the lack of water may even help, but it is not the main reason. And garbage, have you ever sat on the grass and found a can of soda, molasses, sticky and full of flies around you, it's bad, isn't it? You even change places, because you are disgusted to put it in the trash, or the trash doesn't even exist. You've already had the opportunity to cross the cemetery bridge, I bet you didn't even stop to look at the river, right, how much it has widened in these years. And what did you notice when passing through Vila João Conti? Poverty I bet, but next time look how close the houses are to the river and that they use it like garbage. There are few areas where you can still enjoy the shade of the riparian forests. I could spend hours writing and I wouldn't mention all the problems, but I don't think you would be willing to waste your time, so I ask you one thing, just one: look around you, look at our nature, look at how the city is, for Please realize that by just doing your part, you will help her. Fight for your rights as a citizen and child of nature.
