At Copaíba, students experience the forest up close.
Here they learn, touch, observe and understand how every small action can make a difference in the conservation of the Atlantic Forest.

During the visit, the students will:

  • To learn about the diversity of seeds and the production stages of native seedlings in the regional Atlantic Forest.
  • Understanding the role of trees in soil and water conservation.
  • Observing up close the work of native bees in the ecological balance.
  • Walking through a restored forest and witnessing the transformation of the environment.
  • Reflect on attitudes that can be adopted at home and at school to protect the environment.

Each visit leaves a mark. Each lesson learned generates love for... nature.

Themes that engage with the school curriculum (BNCC)

  • The visit covers different topics in the following areas:
    • Sciences: biodiversity, natural cycles, environmental conservation
    • Geography: land use, environmental impacts, landscape
    • Biology (High School): ecological succession, seedling production, ecosystem services
    • Citizenship and Sustainability: social role in conservation

    👉 Ideal for students from the 3rd year of Elementary School onwards.

    How does the visit work?

    The activities are led by a specialized environmental educator in a safe, structured environment prepared to receive school groups.

    Duration:
    From 2 to 3.5 hours, depending on the school's objectives and the age group.

    Available times:
    Morning or afternoon, on Mondays, Tuesdays, and Thursdays.

    Available structure:

    • Bathrooms
    • Bus parking lot
    • Space for snacks or picnics – outdoors or in a covered area (each school must bring its own snacks)
    • Safety equipment provided when necessary (e.g., forest trails)

    Security:

    • Groups of up to 20 students per environmental educator.
    • Structure with internal dirt roads, shaded areas and signposted locations.
    • Team trained in first aid.
    • Planning all activities with a focus on the well-being and safety of the students.

    👉 Before the visit, we send a guide with practical instructions to the school (what to bring, appropriate clothing, important precautions, etc.).

Stages of the experience

  • Reception and welcome: A conversation about the history of Copaiba and the purpose of the work.
  • Practical experience with the erosion box: To understand the importance of trees in soil and water conservation.
  • The seed's journey: Diversity of species, processing and care of seedlings up to planting in the field.
  • Visit to the restored forest: A walk along trails where students observe the results of ecological restoration work in the Atlantic Forest.
  • Getting to know native bees: A look at the role of pollinators and other animals in ecological balance.
  • Closing remarks and reflection: A moment to share feelings, lessons learned, and ideas on how each of us can care for nature in our daily lives.
