Members of WRI Global and WRI Brasil accompanied members of the association in restoration and native seedling production zones
Recognized as one of the main initiatives on the global scene to develop studies and implement solutions so that people have the essentials to live, to protect the environment and to restore nature, in favor of climate balance and the formation of resilient communities, the World Resources Institute (WRI) was present — through dozens of its members — at the headquarters of the Copaiba Environmental Association, over the last week.
The visit aimed to provide WRI’s foreign members with their first contact with the Atlantic Forest and to provide all other attendees with an insight into Copaíba’s initiatives in the areas of ecological restoration and native seedling production. During the visit, participants were given access to an institutional presentation of Copaíba; learned about the restoration methods and the phases of implementation in degraded areas; watched and participated in seedling production; and were introduced to the institution’s partner programs, such as the Verde Mel Project, carried out in partnership with the Raízes do Mogi Guaçu Program.
