Last Monday, February 10th, the RMA (Network of NGOs from the Atlantic Forest) published an article announcing the publication in the Official Gazette of the Union Decree nº 10.224, changing the composition of the Deliberative Council of the National Environment Fund ( FNMA), excluding from it the vacancies destined to the representation of civil society.
With the new composition, the FNMA now has a deliberative council fully composed of representatives from the federal government.” The Federal Government has been repeatedly neglecting this guideline, and faithful to the authoritarian bias it assumes, it believes that the National Environmental Policy can become a federal policy. Even the participation of representatives of state and municipal governments was suppressed in the current composition of the FNMA Council.”
