Sunday, April 7th, TV Globo's Globo Rural program highlighted the important role of the Copa\u00edba Environmental Association in its report on the relationship between water and forest. The article was preceded by another valuable topic on water, which is rural ecological sanitation, an initiative promoted by Socorro City Hall in the rural area of the city.<\/span><\/p>\n

Copa\u00edba, which has been developing projects and actions aimed at the conservation and restoration of the Atlantic Forest in the Peixe and Camanducaia river basins for almost two and a half decades, had its history and relevance highlighted during the program. The Association is recognized not only for its role in the formation of forest fragments in the region, but also for its ability to raise awareness and engage the local community in the environmental cause. As was the case with Tonh\u00e3o Carlevatto, a farmer from Socorro\/SP who participated in the restoration of his property with Copa\u00edba and 5 years later, saw the water return to his lands. Excited, he tells reporter Filippo Mancuso how this transformation began on earth, but ended up being incorporated into his thinking and way of living.<\/span><\/p>\n

The complete matter approach, which involves everything from the implementation of more sustainable sewage treatment systems to the recovery of springs and riparian forests, is fundamental for the preservation of springs and the guarantee of quality water for rural and urban communities, from small cities to large metropolises.<\/span><\/p>\n

Copa\u00edba, by being recognized nationally for its work, in a renowned program such as Globo Rural, reinforces the importance of everyone's involvement in a common and essential good, which is water.<\/span><\/p>\n

Just over a year ago, we were also featured on the Rep\u00f3rter ECO program, on TV Cultura. As an integral part of the Pact for the Restoration of the Atlantic Forest, which had been chosen by the UN as one of the reference initiatives in environmental recovery, we were able to present our work to conserve and restore this important biome.<\/p>\n
