Since July of this year, the executive team of Associa\u00e7\u00e3o Ambientalista Copa\u00edba, with the support of counselors, volunteers and countless employees, has been dedicated to the adaptations of the Viveiro Florestal Copa\u00edba, generated by the change of address of the institution.<\/p>\n
Copa\u00edba is now part of the community in the neighborhood of Pedra Branca, in Socorro\/SP. The entire institution, with headquarters, nursery and administrative sector, is installed there. And it is in the new \u201cEspa\u00e7o Copa\u00edba\u201d that the Forest Nursery has gained an area to grow and expand the production of seedlings of native trees.<\/p>\n
The most recent adaptation was the installation of a greenhouse for seed germination. In it, the direct sowing of the seeds of approximately 60 species of native trees is carried out. In a short time, the seeds germinate directly in the tubes and turn into seedlings. In the greenhouse there is enough space for more than 60 thousand seedlings.<\/p>\n
As soon as the small seedlings appear, there is a need to change their environment so that they can receive nutrients and be fertilized. From there, the growth phase begins. In months they will be strong enough to be planted in the field and form new forests.<\/p>\n
Any change requires a lot of work and dedication. The adaptations and structuring of both the headquarters and the Forest Nursery are still taking place.<\/p>\n
In addition to Copa\u00edba's operational activities, the forest reserve recovered by the institution itself is being cared for with great care. A Nature Conservation Unit will soon be created in this area, in the category of Private Reserve of Natural Heritage (RPPN).<\/p>\n
The new headquarters is located at Estrada Municipal da Pedra Branca, in the neighborhood of Pedra Branca, in Socorro\/SP. The institution is open for service from Monday to Friday, from 8 am to 4 pm.<\/p>\n
