And it is there that a new planting of seedlings is taking place with the support of Copaíba.

The new trees are being planted on the banks of the Camanducaia River, one of the main tributaries of the Piracicaba River (PCJ basin). The Camanducaia is a river of great ecological and economic importance for the entire region. It is the one that contributes to the water supply of the metropolitan region of Campinas.

The planting is being carried out on the Ramiro Zuccato Filho property, in the Tamanduá neighborhood, in Toledo, on the border with the Boca da Mata neighborhood, in Pedra Bela/SP. The forest will be formed by more than 2,000 trees, in addition to the existing small forest fragments, which will be connected from this new planting of seedlings. The planted areas will soon form the ecological corridors, so important for the conservation of biodiversity. It is through the corridors that wild fauna can travel from one forest to another, safely.

For owner Ramiro, this planting is just the beginning of an old dream. Many trees will still be planted there. Thus, the property, in addition to being productive, will gradually become environmentally adequate, with the river banks all reforested. “Since the time of my training as an agronomist, I have wanted to build a productive and ecologically balanced property. There, we have corn and vegetable production. We also have livestock and, now, the forest, which will contribute to the conservation of springs, fauna and flora”, comments Ramiro.

After planting these seedlings, other areas along the Camanducaia River will be prepared to receive new native Atlantic Forest seedlings, which will form the riparian forest. The Copaíba team will be closely monitoring the progress of this action. Thus, all technical guidance, necessary to ensure the success of the planting, will be given.

This action is part of the Verde Novo project, carried out by Copaíba, which receives financial support from companies in the region. And both the rural producer, Ramiro, and Copaíba believe that this initiative can encourage other rural producers to recover their forests. After all, they are fundamental for maintaining the ecological balance and as Ramiro himself said, “it is the forest that will reduce the incidence of pests in our production”.

May this action become an example and be replicated to more places in the Camanducaia basin!

[1

post-4819","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sem-categoria
["GET
