There are more than 340 hectares of areas that are being restored through the NGO.

This work resulted in the protection of 250 springs in the region. There are more than 200 partner properties of this action and thanks to them this work has been carried out successfully.

The restoration of areas around the springs favors the infiltration of rainwater into the soil and this makes the recharge of this water constant, allowing the maintenance of these springs. “We have reports from landowners that after three or four years of planting the seedlings, the spring water not only began to sprout again, but is maintained throughout the year. And this is very gratifying, because we know that this is a benefit that goes beyond partnership ownership. Everyone benefits from this”, comments Flávia Balderi, Copaíba's executive secretary.

In addition to the springs, other areas are considered important for Copaíba. Native forests as a whole need to be protected and restored. Therefore, river banks, streams, water recharge areas, hill tops, and slopes are strategic areas for forest restoration.

The more forest, the more environmental conservation, which results in better quality of life.

[1

post-4783","post","type-post","status-publish","format-standard","has-post-thumbnail","hentry","category-sem-categoria
["GET
