And activities in the middle of nature can change the behavior of this student. According to American writer and journalist Richard Louv, an expert in child development and author of the book \u201c<em>The Last Child in Nature\u201d,\u00a0<\/em>the human being needs experiences in nature. He argues and justifies that children in contact with nature improve school performance and may even reduce symptoms of attention deficit disorder.<\/p>\n<p>The expert believes that humans have an innate attraction to nature. And that we need these experiences for our mental and physical health. Research, experience and common sense suggest that our attraction to and need for natural environments and engagement with other species are fundamental to our health, our survival and our spirit. This connection is part of our humanity.<\/p>\n<p>\u201cAs children spend less time in natural areas, their senses are limited, both physiologically and psychologically. This has enormous consequences for the child&#039;s abilities to self-regulate. This reduces the richness of human experiences and contributes to a condition, which I call nature deficit disorder\u201d, comments Louv in an interview with \u00c9poca Magazine.<\/p>\n<p>Our hectic and hectic lives, surrounded by technologies and facilities can keep us further away from direct contact with nature. Children today spend fewer hours outdoors and, consequently, more time confined at home, on the computer, cell phone, watching television or playing video games \u2013 harmful to their development.<\/p>\n<p>This reconnection with nature is necessary and urgent.
