A few years ago, Copa\u00edba started the projects of the \u201cRestoration of the
\nriparian areas of springs and watercourses in the Rio do Peixe basin\u201d and \u201cForest Restoration of
\nsources and tributary streams of the Rio do Peixe\u201d, contracts FEHIDRO 292\/2014 (code MOGI
\n417) and FEHIDRO 186\/2015 (Mogi 476), both with financial resources from FEHIDRO (Fund
\nState of S\u00e3o Paulo Water Resources), through the Basin Committee
\nHydrographic of the Mogi Gua\u00e7u River.
\nAll these areas undergoing restoration need to be monitored and receive
\nconstant maintenance. For this it is necessary to control leaf-cutting ants, crown
\naround the planted seedlings, brushing the competing grass between the planting lines,
\nfertilize the seedlings when necessary, in short, it is essential to take care of these seedlings,
\ncontributing to good development in the field.
\nThese areas maintenance actions are being carried out in more than 20 hectares.
\nThere are almost 30 thousand seedlings of trees native to the Atlantic Forest planted by Copa\u00edba
\nin these areas and which today are also being cared for by the institution.
\nSoon, this microbasin will have new forests formed, contributing to the
\nwater conservation, controlling erosion and silting of water courses, and more
\nthan that, providing shelter and food for wild fauna, contributing
\nfor the conservation of biodiversity.
