The reasons that lead landowners to look for the Verde Novo project sponsored by Petrobras through the Petrobras Socio-environmental program run by Copa\u00edba are the most diverse: recovery of springs, greater diversity of native tree species on the property, attracting bees to help the plantation, among others. And the reason that led the couple Roberto and Clem\u00eancia to reforest the property was the desire to plant and take care of the forests!<\/p>\n
The couple's story inspires many people for their commitment and dedication to taking care of the site that began to be reforested almost 10 years ago, shortly after Roberto and Clem\u00eancia acquired the property in the municipality of Bueno Brand\u00e3o. \u201cWe like to take care of nature, it has always been our dream. We fight for it and we live for it\u201d comments Roberto.<\/p>\n
2,600 seedlings of native Atlantic Forest trees were planted, donated by the Verde Novo project, but the farmer couple continues to plant and increase the forest through seedlings produced from the seeds that the planted trees have been producing. There are more than 3 ha (30,000 meters\u00b2) of forests.<\/p>\n
Many wild animals were seen on the property, such as birds of different species, deer and even the maned wolf. Clem\u00eancia comments fondly about the restored area on the property \u201cThis little piece of land is our dream and the forest we planted is paradise. Every human being should respect, because without nature we have no life. I would like to live another 150 years to see the trees growing, getting bigger and bigger and bearing their fruit.\u201d<\/p>\n
