Jatoba (Hymenaea courbaril) for example, is present in Central America, South America and the West Indies. In our region, the species can reach up to 20 meters in height, its fruiting usually takes place from July to October. It is also found in the Amazon and can reach up to 40 meters in height.<br \/>\nIt can be consumed by both man and wild animals, the tree has medicinal properties. From its leaves and bark are made teas and from its fruit cakes and other delicacies that help in the treatment of gastrointestinal and respiratory problems and in the healing of wounds. Tree sap is also used to treat coughs and bronchitis.<br \/>\nCopa\u00edba produces Jatob\u00e1 by collecting seeds from trees found in the forests of the region between the south of Minas Gerais and the east of S\u00e3o Paulo. After collection, the fruit is opened and the seeds are removed, which are properly selected and cleaned for production. It&#039;s kind of slow growing.<br \/>\nRemember, before using the species for medicinal purposes, consult a doctor or specialist.
